You’ll work alongside a passionate team of climate and environmental experts (meet the team here) to transform raw data into credible, high-impact carbon credits. Partnering closely with Samara, you’ll be continuously improving how we certify projects—ensuring every ton issued meets the highest standards of integrity.Our start-up culture means high levels of autonomy, no micro-management, and a strong focus on experimentation and innovation.Key Skills for SuccessThis role positions you at the forefront of our climate impact operations, working with our internal methodologies and external partners to deliver robust carbon project certifications. You’ll be key in ensuring that our methodologies drive rigorous, impactful, and sustainable outcomes.Technical Foundations : You’re currently pursuing a degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field. You have a strong interest in learning how carbon markets work and are eager to gain hands-on experience to build your knowledge and skills.Operational Support & Ownership: You’re organized, proactive, and not afraid to take initiative. Whether it’s helping track project timelines, creating new templates to match our methodologies, coordinating with partners, or assisting in reviews, you’re ready to dive into the operations that make our work impactful.Communication & Teamwork: You’re a clear communicator (English required; French is a plus), comfortable working with others, and happy to ask questions when something’s unclear. You’ll collaborate across our teams—from climate to sales and product—and with external stakeholders and third party auditors.Climate & Carbon Knowledge (or Interest to Learn):Maybe you've explored Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) or Carbon Footprinting in class, or you're just starting to get curious. Either way, you’re motivated to understand how carbon emissions are calculated and how we ensure the credibility of carbon removal projects.Analytical Thinking: You enjoy digging into data, checking calculations, or asking thoughtful questions when something doesn’t quite add up. Accuracy matters, and you're excited to help us maintain the integrity of our work.A Curious, Mission-Driven Mindset: You want to grow your knowledge about climate solutions and contribute meaningfully to a team working at the cutting edge of sustainability and innovation.Please do not worry if you don’t match all these points – we value potential and are excited to discuss opportunities with those who are passionate about the work.ResponsibilitiesManage Project Certification: Collaborate with partners to gather project data and conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) using our in-house models. Ensure each project aligns with eligibility requirements defined by our standard and methodology-specific rules—for example, verifying feedstock sustainability in a biochar project or assessing system boundaries in electronics refurbishing.Translate Customer Context into Project Documentation: Engage directly with customers to understand their technologies and operations—in various domains like biochar production, electronics refurbishing, or biobased construction materials—and apply these insights to write down accurate and relevant project documentation, including eligibility assessments and project design documents (PDDs).Uphold Quality Standards: Understand and follow the Rainbow Standard Rules and methodologies to help enforce high quality and rigor throughout the project application review and certification process until third party audit.Balance Speed and Precision: Ensure efficient project certification by maintaining clear, proactive communication with project leaders and auditors, balancing pace with uncompromising quality.Recruitment process
